Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is known to be a man not given to superstitions.
However, it appears that he has decided to enter his chamber in the Vidhana Soudha only from the door to the south instead of the one in the west, as advised by vaastu experts.
In the past, the door to the south has always remained shut and was used rarely. According to senior journalists, no Chief Minister in the past had used the south door to enter the chamber.
On Thursday, the south door of the Chief Minister’s office was found decorated with flowers. The Chief Minister’s name plate was also put up on the south door. Official sources said that Mr Siddaramaiah would enter the office from the south door. The door on the west side was used by the officials and the public.
This apparently followed suggestions from vaastu experts. Several ministers in the Secretariat have also ordered change in the interiors of their chambers.
