Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah today ruled out an alliance with JDS for the coming Zilla and Taluk panchayat polls in the State.

“I am a responsible and obedient soldier of Congress. There is no question of any alliance for the coming polls. I have not had any discussion with JDS state unit president H D Kumaraswamy (in this regard),” he told reporters here.

Mr. Siddaramaiah claimed the electorate would teach a lesson to the BJP for “meting out injustice” to the backward classes through the reservation policy of the state government.

The panchayat polls are to be held in the State in two phases later this month.
