No public entry into LH post 8 p.m.

People will, henceforth, not be allowed into the Legislator’s Home from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. This rule will come into effect immediately.

Speaker K. Ramesh Kumar told presspersons on Monday that this was being done to prevent disturbance to legislators.

He was speaking after administering the oath to newly elected Congress member from Jayanagar Sowmya Reddy. Except for legislators, no one will be allowed inside, he said. Ms. Reddy’s father and former Minister Ramalinga Reddy was present.

Training for legislators

Mr. Ramesh Kumar also said that the newly elected legislators will be given a three-day training in the Administrative Training Institute in Mysuru.

Oath ceremony

Meanwhile, Legislative Council Chairman D.H. Shankaramurthy administered oath to 11 newly elected MLCs on Monday morning. These MLCs have been elected from the Legislative Assembly.

Those who took oath are Arvind Kumar Arali, C.M. Ibrahim, K. Govindraj, Tejaswini Gowda, S.L. Dharmegowda, K.P. Nanjundi Vishwakarma, B.M. Farook, Raghunath Rao Malkhapure, N. Ravikumar, S. Rudregowda, and K. Harish Kumar.
