With the pro-Yeddyurappa camp putting pressure on Bharatiya Janata Party leaders to welcome the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa back into the party, other State BJP leaders seem to have decided not to air their opinions on the issue.
While the former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar declined to answer queries on the issue on Thursday, BJP State president Pralhad Joshi did the same on Friday saying it was left to the party’s Central leadership to take a decision on the issue.
“On Thursday, some BJP legislators met me and put forward their views on welcoming Mr. Yeddyurappa into the party. I have heard them and will pass them on to the Central leadership,” he said.
However, Mr. Joshi made one point clear: there was no proposal before the party to get Mr. Yeddyurappa back.
However, he hinted that the issue might come up for discussion during the party’s State core committee meeting on Saturday.
To a query, Mr. Joshi said if the party sought his opinion on the issue, he would convey his thoughts to the party high command and not to the media.
Meanwhile BJP sources revealed that the issue may be put aside in the wake of the relief activities going on in Uttarakhand .
Sources revealed that various pros and cons of Yeddyurappa’s inclusion are being examined.
