The Hyderabad Karnataka region continued to reel under severe heat-wave conditions, with Gulbarga recording the State’s highest day temperature of 40.6 degrees Celsius on Friday.
According to the summary of observations recorded by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) at 8.30 a.m. on Friday, the day temperature recorded in Gulbarga was 2 degrees Celsius more than the average. The minimum temperature in Gulbarga was 25 degrees Celsius.
Bellary, which recorded day temperature of 40 degrees Celsius on Friday, registered a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, which was 3 degrees Celsius more than the average and highest in the State.
The day temperature recorded in Bidar was 39 degrees Celsius, 2degrees Celsius more than the average. Raichur and Koppal too recorded day temperature of 39 degrees Celsius.
Bijapur, Dharwad, Gadag and Belgaum airport in the Bombay Karnataka region recorded an identical day temperature of 38 degrees Celsius.
IMD sources said that mainly dry weather would prevail in north interior Karnataka and there will be no significant change in the weather conditions. Rain or thundershowers may occur at isolated places in coastal and south interior Karnataka in the next 48 hours, IMD forecast said.
