Minister in-charge of Mysuru district V. Srinivas Prasad on Thursday said there are no possibilities of a change of guard in the State at this juncture. However, the KPCC would soon get a new president, he added.

Speaking to reporters here, the Minister said KPCC president G. Parameshwar had successfully completed five years in office, facing many elections. The KPCC will get a new head after the elections to the Rajya Sabha and the Legislative Council, he disclosed.

Introspection time

“I don’t think there will be change of the Chief Minister,” he said, adding that it was time for the Congress party to introspect on whether it had distanced itself from the people or vice-versa. “There are talks on bringing Rahul Gandhi to lead the party. Usually, after setback in the elections, the voices seeking change are heard. The leadership should work towards strengthening the party by appointing ideal persons,” Mr. Prasad added. The Minister said he was not unhappy with the Congress candidate for the South Graduates’ Constituency but disappointed over the manner the candidate was selected. “I don’t know how he [Ravindra] got the ticket.”
