The Mandya West police investigating the sexual assault of a minor girl, allegedly by her adoptive father and his friend, are yet to make a breakthrough in the case.
District Child Welfare Committee president Venkatesh has filed the complaint against the victim’s adoptive father Manjunath (veterinarian) and his friend Ramachandra Rao of Shankara Nagar on Thursday.
However, the accused are still at large.
Case registered
A case has been registered under certain sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 and Indian Penal Code against the accused.
“We are yet to make a breakthrough in the case,” Shobharani, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mandya sub-division), told The Hindu here on Saturday.
