After having resolved a long succession row through mediation, the two swamijis, who were involved in a legal battle over the succession at the Moorusavira Math, shared the stage in Hubli on Monday to launch the “Nitya Dasoha” at the math.
They not only declared that they were “good friends” and would continue to be so, but also vowed to work for the development of the math.
The religious and social activities of the Moorusavira Math, which was founded in the 12th century, had taken a beating after the succession row entered the court of law more than a decade ago.
Sri Rudramuni Devaru, who now heads the Tiptur Math and Sri Gurusiddha Rajayogindra Swamiji, now head of Moorusavira Math as per the agreement, said that their dream was to bring back the old glory to the math, which was one of the revered institutions in North Karnataka.
Sri Rudramuni Devaru announced that he would donate Rs. 1 lakh for the daily mass feeding and said that he was ready to work for the development of the math as a common devotee.
Sri Gurusiddha Rajayogindra Swamiji called upon the devotees to come closer to the math and participate in developing the “Veerashaiva Math”, which had kept its door open for all communities.
Participating in the inauguration of the daily mass feeding programme, Chairman of the Legislative Council Veeranna Mattikatti said that the eclipse period of the math was over now and very soon the math would be vibrant with various activities beneficial to society.
Member of Parliament Pralhad Joshi explained how “Anna Dasoha” (mass feeding) was important just like dissemination of knowledge.
MLC and member of the core committee of the math Vijay Sankeshwar explained how teamwork had started bringing changes in the administration of the math.
After the formal function, the two swamijis along with others served food to the devotees to mark the inauguration of “Nitya Dasoha”.
