Installation of Nirmalanandanatha Swami as the 72nd mathadhipati of the Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math was performed amid the chanting of Vedic hymns on the math premises in Nagamangala taluk on Wednesday.
Rituals related to the installation ceremony commenced at 4.30 a.m. Nirmalanandanatha Swami, who succeeds Balagangadharanatha Swami who passed away on January 13, offered prayers at the math prior to the ceremony.
Former Chief Ministers D.V. Sadananda Gowda and H.D. Kumaraswamy, the former Minister Ramachandra Gowda, Mandya Deputy Commissioner B.N. Krishnaiah and a large number of people from different parts of the State were present.
