Hephsiba Rani Korlapati (27), an IAS officer of the 2011 batch, took charge as the Commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation on Thursday.

Earlier, she was the Assistant Commissioner of Basavakalyan revenue sub-division in Bidar district.

In a brief interaction with media after taking charge, she said it would require at least two weeks for assessing various issues relating to the city corporation.

“I will strive to remove the time and space constraints that people face in dealing with the civic body,” she said, adding that effective use of Information Technology solutions that would help people save time and physical effort in taking various services would be made available.
