New Kendriya Vidyalaya building inaugurated in Shivamogga

The new building of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Shivamogga, in Santekadur on the outskirts of the city was inaugurated by B.S. Yeddyurappa, MP, on Sunday.

Kendriya Vidyalaya commenced functioning in Shivamogga city at a government building in Ragigudda locality in 2010. The district administration allotted 9.36 acres for the construction of a new building in Santekadur, and work commenced on November 7, 2015.

The building has 24 classrooms, a laboratory and a library. In addition, staff quarters that can accommodate nine families have come up on the premises. An amount of ₹17.5 crore was spent on the construction work.

Mr. Yeddyurappa stressed the need to strengthen the infrastructure for education at mofussil centres and rural areas. He directed the district administration to take measures to ply more buses from various localities to Santekadur for the benefit of students and parents.
