Naresh Lalwani (Indian Railways Service of Engineers) has taken over as the new Divisional Railway Manager of Palakkad Division of Southern Railway, which has jurisdiction over Mangaluru, on Wednesday.

Prior to the new assignment, Mr. Lalwani was working as Chief Engineer (Track Maintenance), Central Railway, Mumbai, said an official release here.

Belonging to the 1985 examination batch of IRSE, Mr. Lalwani joined the Indian Railways in 1987 after graduating in the year 1985. He also did Executive Master of Business Administration from Indian Institute of Management, Indore, in 2010.

Mr. Lalwani has got wide experience in both construction and open line operation in addition to his service rendered in Railway Academy. He had worked in North Frontier Railway, Western Railway, Central Railway and Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering, Pune.

During his tenure at the Railway Institute, Mr. Lalwani worked a senior professor, imparting knowledge to Railway officers. He has specialized in the fields of contracts and arbitration, safety and management development. He has also worked in Track Machine Organisation of the Railways, the release said.

Mr. Lalwani underwent strategic management course at Shanghai, China and Paris in 2012. He also attended training of Track Machines in Austria in 2015.
