National Integration Camp in Vijayapura from Feb. 5

The city will host a five-day National Integration Camp-2015 from February 5.

As many as 250 participants from 11 States would participate in the camp, Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep told presspersons here on Friday.

He said that the event was being organised by the Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Services, Nehru Yuva Kendra and the district administration.

Mr. Randeep said that the participants would not only display their talent, but would also give an opportunity for the local people to see their tradition and culture.

“There will be participants from Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Chattisgarh, Nagaland, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, and Karnataka,” he said.

Mr. Randeep said that the participants would present their traditional dance such as ‘bhangra’ of Punjab, ‘dogri’ of Jammu and Kashmir, Naga dance of Nagaland, ‘garba’ of Gujarat, ‘ghumar’ of Rajasthan and ‘panchi’ of Chattisgarh.

Symposium

Symposiums and seminars would be held on subjects pertaining to women, youth and socio-economic aspects, Mr. Randeep said.

The participants would be taken to Basarkod village in Muddebihal taluk where they would spend a whole day. The event would also help promote tourism and the participants would visit the tourist sports in the city.
