Satya Nadella, the new Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft, was a quiet and reserved student when he was studying in Manipal, according to his maths professor.
“A calm and quiet student” is how retired professor K. Kamalaksha described Mr. Nadella, an alumnus of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT). Prof. Kamalaksha told The Hindu over the phone from Manipal that he had taught Mr. Nadella for three years. He was a “good student” who got distinction.
He said Mr. Nadella was “very reserved” and was not in the limelight while in college.
Prof. Kamalaksha, who taught at MIT for 40 years and was its dean and chief warden, said, “We are very proud [of Mr. Nadella].”
Mr. Nadella, a native of Hyderabad, studied electronics and communications engineering at MIT and graduated from the institute in 1988.
