NAAC team visits GCW in Mandya

A three-member National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) peer team visited the Government College for Women (GCW) on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway in the town on Wednesday to assess the curricular components at the institution.

Bharati Ray, former Pro-Vice Chancellor of Calcutta University, led the team. Accompanied by two other members –Kanika Sharma and Sujatha – the team visited various departments and inspected the facilities being provided to the students and staff.

Sources at the GCW said that the team interacted with the students and staff to assess the quality of teaching and learning. The team was satisfied with the infrastructure and stressed on the need to give importance to research-oriented programmes, the sources added.

Later, the committee members planted a sapling on the GCW premises. College Development Committee working president Shivananja, Principal V.T. Ramachandra and others were present.
