N-tech diagnosis at Belagavi hospital

The Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital in Belagavi will now offer diagnosis based on nuclear technology. It has set up Molecular Imaging with Single Photon Emission Computerised Tomography (SPECT), Positron Emission Tomography (PET-CT) and Radio-Nuclide Therapy Unit at a cost of around Rs. 15 crore.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the facility in Belagavi on Saturday. M.V. Jali, Medical Director and CEO of the hospital, and Rashmi Angadi, Chief Consultant of the new unit, briefed the Minister about the facility.

Prabhakar Kore, MP and KLE Society chairman, said that this was the only hospital with such advanced health care facilities in northern Karnataka. He also said the society was planning an exclusive cancer hospital in Belagavi.

MPs Pralhad Joshi and Suresh Angadi, MLC Mahantesh Kavatagimath, head of the KLE higher education and research institute Vivek Saoji, and others were present.
