Mysuru has seen a spurt in the sale of books authored by the former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who passed away recently.

The Missile Man’s books are suddenly in great demand.

Although some of the eminent scientist’s books, including his autobiography Wings of Fire , were among the bestsellers, the sales in particular shot up soon after his demise.

Some bookstores in Mysuru had to replenish the stocks, thanks to the rise in demand for the visionary’s thought-provoking books.

“We have in stock all the books of Dr. Kalam since their demand has risen after his sudden death while delivering a lecture in Shillong. We have taken special care to ensure availability of his books so that his admirers need not have to go around for his books,” said Ram, a storekeeper at Sapna Book House in Mysuru.

Sapna Book House has sold over 30 copies of Wings of Fire and 20 copies of Ignited Minds since Tuesday. This particular book store has sold 1,500 copies of Wings of Fire since its publication.
