Mysuru couple commit suicide

March 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:51 am IST - Mandya:

A couple from Mysuru allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Visvesvaraya canal, near the downstream of Brindavan Gardens, near Srirangapatna.

The decomposed bodies of Devaiah (47) and his wife Vijayalakshmi (44) of Hinkal were found by local residents on Thursday afternoon. According to the KRS police, the duo might have committed suicide on March 24.

Their only son had died of cancer about five years ago, which had prompted them to take the extreme step, the police said, citing a suicide note left by the duo.

A case has been registered in the KRS police station.
