The Mysuru city police, investigating the low-intensity blast in the toilet of the court complex, is awaiting the forensic report of the material recovered from the site.
The police said the material used to trigger the explosion had been collected and sent to the Forensic Sciences Laboratory.
The report is expected to take time as the experts have to chemically analyse the material.
The material collected has indicated that it was an improvised explosive device. Ballistic experts will also analyse the samples. The teams of experts from National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) shared their expertise with the investigating officials of the city police. “Officials from NIA and IB check for the methodology employed to trigger the blast and ascertain if there are innovations,” an official said.
Meanwhile, officials conceded that no significant breakthrough has been achieved in the investigations so far. “We don’t have a clue about the motive or the persons involved,” said a police source.
Except for similarities drawn to the explosions in Kollam in Kerala and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, little headway has been made.
