The former Chief Minister and Karnataka Janata Paksha president, B.S. Yeddyurappa has now trained his guns on his former trusted lieutenants Murgesh Nirani, Basavaraj Bommai, Umesh Katti and V. Somanna.
“These people have cheated me, they have betrayed me by taking my help to become not only MLAs but also Ministers in the BJP government. After enjoying power, they all have now backstabbed me, will you (the people) ever pardon them,” he asked emotionally.
Addressing a public gathering at Devarahipparagi Assembly constituency of Bijapur district on Monday, he delivered an emotionally charged speech saying how he has been cheated and ditched in the past by the Janata Dal (Secular) and now by his own close aides.
“Those who got Ministries in BJP government should not forget that it was because of Yeddyurappa they got higher positions. But when I decided to form KJP, they refused to join me by ditching me and my faith in them,” he said.
In his about 30-minute-long speech, he kept describing himself as “your Yeddyurappa”, and asked people how they would reply when “their Yeddyurappa”, got ditched by his own close supporters. “In the democratic system, people are the kings who decide the future of any politicians. Therefore, I am confident that people will teach a fitting lesson to those who have backstabbed your Yeddyurappa,” he said.
His party’s candidate of Devarahipparagi constituency, Rajugouda Patil and Nagathan MLA, Vithal Katakadonda were present.
