Municipal commissioner complains of his email account being hacked

‘False information sent to media’

November 25, 2014 03:14 pm | Updated 03:14 pm IST - Hassan:

V.H. Krishnamurthy, Hassan City Municipal Council Commissioner, has filed a complaint with the city police that his email account has been hacked and some false information sent to media houses. He has appealed to the police to investigate and arrest the culprits.

On November 23, a few presspersons here had received a mail stating that H.R. Praveen Kumar, assistant engineer, and Satish Kumar, first division assistant in the Hassan City Municipal Council, had been suspended, pending an inquiry, under the commissioner’s email account. Mr. Krishnamurthy on Monday told The Hindu that the information published in some newspapers was false. “Somebody has hacked my email account and sent false information to presspersons. I have filed a complaint with the police and informed the incident to Superintendent of Police,” he said.

The email had been sent at 5.10 p.m. on Sunday, a holiday. “Someone must have sent such an email to tarnish the image of the two employees,” he said.
