Moonlight literary meet on April 4

The sixth State-level Beladingala Sahitya Sammelan (Moonlight Literary Meet) would be held at Yennehole village in Karkala taluk on April 4.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Shekhar Ajekar, coordinator of the sammelan, said that the sammelan would begin at 6 p.m. on April 4 and culminate at 6 a.m. on April 5. Ambatanaya Mudrady, writer, would inaugurate the sammelan. A.S.N. Hebbar, writer, had been chosen at the president of the sammelan.

The sammelan would comprise a women’s meet, poets’ meet, presentation of awards, and cultural programmes. Savitri Manohar, writer, would preside over the women’s meet. Gagan Gaonkar would inaugurate the cultural programmes. A play “Tala Maddale” would also be staged.

A book exhibition would be held at the venue of the sammelan.

At midnight, Gananath Yekkar, writer, would deliver a lecture on Tulu literature, while K.P. Mrutyunjaya would speak on poetry. Annu Belle would speak on the topic of stories. The multi-lingual poets’ meet would be chaired by the poet Jyoti Guruprasad.

There will be live webcast of the entire sammlean on www.coastalive.com. As many as 18 persons and nine organisations would be felicitated on the occasion for the contributions in different fields, Mr. Ajekar said.
