May 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - Bidar:

The first year of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has been very promising. It will lead to all round development of the country in five years, Bhagwant Khuba, MP, has said in Bidar on Monday. Apart from announcing new schemes, the NDA government has focused on the proper implementation of existing schemes, he said.

“A lot of good work has been done in Bidar in the last one year and people have begun to notice it,” he said. The former MP N. Dharam Singh only made big promises like setting up a defence helicopter production unit in Bidar. “But he did not work towards making them a reality,” Mr. Khuba said.

To a question, Mr. Khuba said, “Achche Din may not be here yet, but we are in the right direction. We are confident of reaching there soon.”

According to him, works in Bidar include — development works worth Rs. 125 crore sanctioned for the Bidar industrial area in Kolar-Khurd village, Rs. 3.5 crore sanctioned for the upgrade of the Bidar railway station, Rs. 3.5 crore sanctioned for the Bidar-Humnabad road, Rs. 30 crore additional grants for the Bidar-Kalaburagi railway line, 440 kilometres of road completed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, running a train from Tirupati to Mumbai, speeding up work on the pit line in Khanapur village near Bidar etc.

He said 112 works would be taken up with Rs. 2.5 crore under his local area development fund.

Shivaraj Gandage, BJP district president, said the Jan Kalyan Parva celebrations will start from June 3.
