Stung by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “10% commission” jibe against his government, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday alleged that the NDA government led by Narendra Modi is 90% corrupt.
Replying to the Motion of Thanks to the Governor Vajubhai Vala in the State Legislative Assembly, Mr Siddaramaiah said “the Modi government is 90% corruption” and “my government (Congress) is free from all scams.”
Hitting out Mr. Modi on his comment on 10% commisison Congress government in Karnataka, Mr Siddaramaiah said there were no evidences to prove the the prime mininster’s charge. “Where are documents...show evidence”. Under the Indian Evidence Act, the burden lies on the person who made the allegations. Let the Prime Minister prove the charge against my government”, Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister termed the the Modi government as “hit and run.”
He said several ministers went to jail during the previous BJP government in the State. However, there was no anti-incumbency against his government and expressed home of returning to power again after 2018 elections.
Mr Modi during the recent rally of the BJP in Bengaluru raked up the commission charge and urged people to elect the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming state Assembly poll to have a “government with a mission.”
On BJP president Amit Shah seeking accounts of funds released by the Centre and its utilisation in the State, Mr Siddarmaiah said “I am answerable to the people of Karnataka. I am answerable to the legislature of the State.”
