Modi failed to woo youth: Ramya

May 09, 2013 09:54 am | Updated November 16, 2021 08:29 pm IST - Bangalore:

Actor Ramya, who campaigned for Congress candidates in the Legislative Assembly elections, said on Wednesday that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi failed to woo the people of the State, especially the youth, as they wanted a secular and stable government in Karnataka.

She told journalists that the Assembly elections results indicate that the voters rejected those spreading radical views.

She said the Bharatiya Janata Party did not utilise the opportunity provided by the people in the last five years.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi deserved all compliments as the youth had responded to his call for a change, she said. Unlike the BJP, the Congress works for the welfare of people of all sections, she said, and congratulated the electorate for voting her to power.

When asked if she would urge the government to develop a film city at Hesaraghatta, Ms. Ramya said infrastructure for the film industry should be developed at Hesaraghatta, and at Kanteerava and Abhiman studios at the same time. She said this issue would be pursued by seniors such as M.H. Ambareesh and Umashree who have been elected to the Assembly.
