D.S. Veeraiah, MLC and a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Sunday celebrated the enrolment of 10 crore members into the party, across the country.
Along with BJP’s Mandya slum morcha members and other leaders, Mr. Veeraiah celebrated the outstanding achievement of his party workers at Sri Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Circle on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway here by distributing sweets.
The party had emerged as the largest political party in the world in terms of number of members, beating the Communist Party of China(CPC) in this regard, he said. The party would continue its membership drive till this month-end, party leaders said.
Party members burst firecrackers to express their joy over achieving the 10-crore target.
