K.C. Kondaiah, Congress leader and MLC, and B. Nagendra, MLA, said they would abide by the decision of the party high command over inducting them into the Janata Dal (S)-Congress coalition government.

They were addressing presspersons after greeting Muslims on Ramzan at the Idgah Maidan here on Saturday.

Mr. Kondaiah said that as a senior in the party, he was an aspirant for ministerial berth and would abide by the decision of the party high command.

“I’m an aspirant for the post of Minister. I don’t want to go against the decision of the party high command and even other aspirants should not. Considering my seniority and given any position, I will manage. I have seen three generations of the party high command, which will not alter any decision already taken by it,” he said.

Mr. Kondaiah was also of the view that opposing the party’s decision to give a Ministerial berth to Jaimala was not proper as she was also capable, he said adding that he did not agree with the submitting of a petition by a few party leaders against her.

Mr. Nagendra said that all the six party MLAs in the district were capable of becoming Ministers and were also aspiring for it. As it was a coalition government, certain adjustments had to be made, he said.

Making it clear that all the MLAs were united, he said that pressure would not be mounted on the party high command for ministerial berth and the decisions taken by former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president G. Parameshwara would be abided.
