Karnataka Minister for Tourism and Infrastructure G. Janardhana Reddy, whose Obulapuram Mining Company has come under the scanner for alleged illegal iron ore mining in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, said his firm had not stopped mining operations as it had not received a show-cause notice from the Andhra Government.

Addressing journalists after unveiling the new Tourism Policy (2009-14) , he said, “We have not received any communication from the Andhra Pradesh Government to stop mining. We have not been served a show-cause notice [nor] any notice to stop mining. Our operations are going on.”
