Minister for Muzrai Prakash B. Hukkeri informed Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Revanna in the Legislative Assembly that he had asked the Finance Department to release tasdeeq (grant) of Rs. 24,95,72,000 to 34,311 Muzrai temples in the State for the remaining nine months of the financial year.
Disbursement soon
Replying to the member during Zero Hour, he said of the Rs. 33,15,72,000 specified in the budget only Rs. 11,05,24,000 had been released by the previous government, which took vote on account for four months.
The various deputy commissioners would disburse the same shortly.
On dengue
Minister for Health and Family Welfare U.T. Khader informed U.B. Banakar (BJP) that 1,386 persons were affected by different types of fever in Hirekerur taluk of Haveri district.
He said there were 343 suspected dengue cases in the district so far this year of which 74 were confirmed positive. All the patients, who underwent treatment in both government and private hospitals were back to normal.
Mr. Khader said district health and family welfare officials had been directed to take all exigency measures to tackle dengue.
Subba Reddy (Bagepalli) urged the government to appoint doctors in government hospitals, while K.G. Bopaiah mooted a medical college for Kodagu.
Compensation
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah promised Mr. Revanna that he would release compensation to H.T. Kantharaju of the Border Security Force, a native of Haradanahalli, in Holenarsipur taluk who died in 2011 and to C. Yoganandan, Battery Havildar Major, who died in Jammu and Kashmir recently. He also pushed for residential sites for the victims’ families.
