Students and teachers of schools in Mysuru can look forward to having their mid-term holidays advanced in view of the Dasara festivities.
Though the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has scheduled 15 days of mid-term holidays for schools in the State from October 11 to October 25, Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru D. Randeep has written to the Commissioner of DPI to advance the holidays for schools in Mysuru district to coincide with Dasara festivities.
The festival is scheduled to begin on September 21 and end on September 30. As students and teachers of the schools will have to participate in it, Mr. Randeep, who is also the Special Officer for the Dasara festival, has said that it will be more appropriate to have the mid-term holidays for schools in Mysuru district from September 21 to October 5 this year. He has sent a letter dated August 21 to the Commissioner of Public Instruction in this regard.
