The Akhil Karnataka Hadapad Appanna Samaj Seva Sangh criticised the successive State governments for playing with the sentiments of the Hadapad community and taking it for granted, but not willing to do concede the genuine demand for including the community under ‘Category-1’ among the Other Backward Classes.

Members of the community took out a procession and later staged a dharna in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office, where they submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister.

Their other demands included establishment of a Corporation for development and welfare of the Hadapad (Kshourik) community members on the lines those established for Backward Classes, Minorities and SC/STs, celebration of Shri Shivasharan Hadapad Appanna Jayanti by State government and release of funds promised in the finance budget 2013-14.

The protest was led by Shri Annadani Bharati Appanna Swami of Shri H.A. Devara Samsthan Mutt, Tangadgi (Vijayapura district), Samaj president Annarao Narajol, secretary H.D. Vaidya and honorary president Mahantesh S. Hampannavar.
