He is a member of a dacoit gang, say police

The Tumkur police have arrested an alleged member of a dacoit gang and recovered gold jewellery and silver ornaments worth Rs. 1.5 lakh from him.

Superintendent of Police Raman Gupta on Friday gave the name of the arrested as Bheemesh alias Bheema of Kappur village in Deodurga taluk of Raichur district.

The police are on the lookout for four other members of the gang, wanted for cases registered in Chitradurga, Davangere, Bangalore and Bangalore Rural districts.

Mr. Gupta said the gang members used to target isolated houses. They would attack the residents and take away valuables.
