K.S. Eshwarappa, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, has said that the City Civil Court in Bengaluru has passed an interim order barring media from referring to Vinay N.S. as his personal assistant.

Mr. Vinay had lodged a complaint alleging that a few persons had tried to abduct him in Bengaluru on May 11. Based on the complaint, the police had questioned N.R. Santhosh, an aide of BJP leader B.S. Yeddyurappa. The police had also issued summons to Mr. Yeddyurappa.

Mr. Eshwarappa told presspersons on Sunday that Mr. Vinay was his acquaintance and not personal assistant. “Even after I had clarified that Mr. Vinay was not working for me, it was reported wrongly in the media that he was my personal assistance. To avoid confusion, I approached the court,” he said.
