Mayor not invited to aero show

February 06, 2013 11:05 am | Updated 11:05 am IST - BANGALORE

The city’s first citizen is not a happy man. Mayor D. Venkatesh Murthy is upset over not being invited to the Aero India 2013.

As per protocol, the Mayor should be invited to government programmes and public events. BJP workers have taken offence over this and are planning to protest.

‘Will discuss the matter’

The Mayor, however, said he will decide the next course of action after discussing the issue with the party leadership.

Protocol violation with regard to Mayors being overlooked is not new. Former Mayors S.K. Nataraj and Sharadamma also failed to find mention in the invites to several events in the city.

Mr. Nataraj had even written to the Protocol Department of the police about this.
