A fast track court on Friday dismissed the anticipatory bail application filed by the Kerala People's Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasir Maudany, one of the accused in the Bangalore serial blasts in 2008, on the grounds that there was “no prima facie case to grant him anticipatory bail.”

The bail plea came up for hearing before sessions Judge V. Srikanth Watavatagi.

Mr. Maudany's counsel P. Usman said, “The bail plea has been rejected and we are yet to receive the certified copies of the order.”

The charge sheet names Mr. Maudany, along with 31 others, for alleged involvement in the blasts that left a woman dead in 2008.
