A mathematics exhibition conducted by the students of Kuvempu Centenary Government Model Higher Primary School at Haralahalli on Monday was well appreciated by officials of the Education Department and teachers of other schools.

The school had organised the exhibition as part of Rashtriya Avishkar Yojana, a project to inculcate interest in science and mathematics among students. The students exhibited as many as 40 models showcasing simple mathematical calculations, different shapes of geometry, use of a balance, among others. The students of Class 3 and Class 4 participated in the event enthusiastically.

“The activity is to motivate the students to develop an interest in mathematics and science. We have selected three schools in Hassan taluk for the project,” said Balaram, Block Education Officer, who inaugurated the exhibition. B.R. Balaramamurthy, headmaster, said teachers had worked hard to prepare the students for the exhibition. “We are all impressed by the students’ participation,” he said. Students from other neighbouring schools also visited the exhibition.
