The Pre University Board in Yadgir district has denied reports of mass copying at a centre in Surpur town in Yadgir district where the Sociology examination was held on Tuesday.

Private news channels aired a news clipping alleging that four students had indulged in mass copying at the centre.

Gurlingappa Minajagi, Deputy Director of the PU Department in Yadgir, said that he had spoken to the chief examiner of the examination centre concerned, seeking a report on the incident. He added that he would take action against those responsible if there was any copying at all.

Although the board has taken precautions to prevent malpractices, students were allegedly indulging in copying, news reports alleged. Meanwhile, several hundred students wrote the Sociology and Accountancy examination.
