Maoists extend support

The constabulary in the State received support from an unexpected quarter on Saturday. Three banners, put up at a bus-stand in Kaarekumbri hamlet near Agumbe in Tirthahalli taluk, extolled police personnel to get liberated from exploitation and lead a dignified life. Police personnel were asked not to believe the promises made by the government but to join hands with the CPI (Maoist) to get their demands fulfilled.

A police team from Tirthahalli seized the banners and the Anti-Naxal Force combed the forests around Agumbe and Mastikatte.
