Many special invitees upset with poor facilities

Many delegates and special invitees faced problems in getting food and shelter at the venue of the 81st Kannada Sahitya Sammelan on Saturday. Despite having received letters as special invitees, several veteran writers had to face embarrassment as they had to introduce themselves and fight for food and shelter.

When Sanat Kumar Belagali, veteran writer and journalist, approached the reception counter with the invitation letter sent by the central Kannada Sahitya Parishat, he was told that his name was not there in list of special invitees they had. Representatives of the parishat at the counter told him to make his own arrangements for food and shelter.

The experience of many people, who arrived from distant places to register their names as delegates, was no different.
