Uttaraaradhana celebrations at Sri Gururaghavendra Swamy Math at Mantralayam, Andhra Pradesh, witnessed a heavy turnout of devotees, who arrived from different parts of the country, on Sunday.

Flower-showering from a helicopter, Maha Panchamruta Abhishekha, Maha Rathotsava accompanied by several cultural troupes and cheering devotee-crowd were major attractions on the fifth day of the 345th Aradhana.

The eventful day began with Maha Panchamruta Abhishekha and special pujas offered to Moola Rama at Brundavan of Guru Raghavendra Swamy by Subudhendra Teertha Swamy, the head and chief administrator of the math. The seer and the math staff then smeared colours on each other, as did the devotees. In his message, Sri Subudhendra Teertha wished for world peace and prosperity.

Future projects

The Swamy announced that the Puja Mantap made with 60 kg gold would be dedicated to Raghavendra Swamy shortly. He also said that in the pipeline was setting up of a university in Mantralayam. “We will start educational institutions that offer degree, engineering and medical courses. Also in the anvil, is a proposal to start a university,” he said.

The seer flagged off the Rathotsava. As the devotees pulled the decorated chariot that carried the statues of Prahladaraj and Raghavendra Swamy on the ground, Sri Subhudhendra Teertha showered flowers from a helicopter. It was the third time that flower-showering from helicopter was performed in the math's history.
