Senior officials from key government departments, mainly Health, RTO, Backward Classes and Minorities’ departments, have been skipping the meetings, members alleged.

The authorities should strive to create awareness about cleanliness among the public, said J. Premakumari, panchayat president. Standing committee president Yogesh drew attention of the meeting towards the lack of facilities for patients and their attendants at Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS). The condition of labour wards and children wards of MIMS was pathetic, he said.
