Man who set himself on fire dies

A father of seven girls who set himself on fire four days ago at his residence in Nandur village on the outskirts of Kalaburagi city, died on Monday.

Police said that Kupendra Chavan of Nandur tanda was disappointed for having seven girls. He wanted a son and was said to be in depression and addicted to alcohol.

Kamalabai, his wife, said in her complaint that Chavan locked the room from inside and set himself on fire on Friday. He was immediately rushed to hospital. However he failed to respond to the treatment.

A case has been filed at Farhatabad police station.
