Man succumbs to burns in attempt to save wife

In an attempted to save his wife, who tried to commit suicide by setting herself ablaze, a man succumbed to burns in Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru.

Narasimhappa, a resident of Motamakalahalli under Kencharlahalli police limits in Chintamani taluk in Chickballapur district suffered severe burns when he tried to save his wife Mahadevamma on June 27.

Mahdevamma set herself ablaze after dousing with kerosene following alleged dowry harassment. A panicked Narasimhappa immediately tried to save his wife from the flames. However, Mahadevamma died that day and her husband was admitted to Victoria Hospital with severe burns.

He succumbed to the burns on Wednesday, the police said.
