Man stabbed in broad daylight in Hubballi

A young autorickshaw driver was stabbed in broad daylight at a traffic junction on the busy Gokul Road here on Wednesday.

The ghastly incident happened at Vanivilas Circle, near Hosur, at around 12.30 pm. The autorickshaw driver was allegedly pulled out of his vehicle and stabbed repeatedly by an unidentified person. The attacker reportedly threatened a passer-by, who tried to take a snap of him, and fled from the scene.

The incident led to chaos at the junction and brought traffic to a halt. According to eyewitnesses at the spot, no traffic personnel was present at the junction at the time of the incident.

A middle-aged woman was the first to rush to the help of the victim, who is yet to be identified. The victim, who was bleeding profusely, was rushed to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital here.
