Enmity between two groups of political workers resulted in the murder of a man and his son in Manvi taluk of Raichur district late on Thursday evening.
According to the police, Nabisab (59) and his son, Nazeer ( 18), were killed by the other group following enmity for decades over various issues.
Quoting from the complaint, the police said that Devaraj Naik, Taluk Panchayat member, and his associates, attacked the father and son at different places and murdered them.
Nabisab was murdered near Madagiri Cross when he was returning from a marriage in Adoni in Andhra Pradesh, the police said.
The second incident, in which the son was murdered, occurred near Hunasur Cross when Nazir was on his way to the spot after coming to know of his father’s murder, the police added. The accused are absconding, the police said and added that they have launched search operation.
Superintendent of Police Chetansingh Rathor, Circle Inspector of Police, Manvi, Chandrashekar, and Sub-Inspector of Police Sabayya, attached to Sirwar Police Station, visited the spot.
A case has been registered in the Sirwar Police Station.
