Man sentenced to life for killing wife

The Second Additional District and Sessions Judge, Hadagali Ramu, sentenced Dada Peer (48), a resident of Maanangi village in Sira taluk of Tumakuru district, to life imprisonment on Saturday for murdering his wife, Bibi Jaan, in front of their daughter on July 5, 2015.

Public prosecutor K.H. Srimathi told The Hindu , “Dada Peer had strangled his wife with his hands and used a blanket to kill her in front of his daughter Mubeena.

He has been convicted under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code.”

In another case, the Second Additional District and Sessions Judge, K.S. Bharath Kumar, sentenced Nagesh (23), a resident of Nanjegowdanapalya in Tumakuru district, to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment after he was found guilty of raping a mentally challenged woman.
