Man pours petrol, sets teacher on fire in front of students

A man set on fire his teacher-friend in front of students at Shambaihana Halli, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, on Wednesday.

According to Byadarahalli police, Sunanda (50) sustained burns on her face, neck, hands and other parts. She was hospitalised with 50% burns. The incident occurred at the Government Lower Primary School in the village.

Ms. Sunanda was taking classes when Renukaradhya entered the classroom, poured petrol and set her ablaze. Hearing screams from the classroom, her colleagues and local residents doused the fire and took her to the local hospital.

Magadi and Byadarahalli station police officials are probing the case.
