A man killed his younger brother unable to bear the latter’s daily quarrels with family members at Nayakanakatte near Malpe in Udupi district on Saturday, according to the Malpe police.

Uday (28) was an alcoholic and used to quarrel with his family members daily.

He quarrelled with his father Gopal Poojary and was about to assault him on Friday night when his elder brother Ravi Kumar intervened.

An argument broke out between them and Kumar allegedly stabbed Uday with a knife.

Uday, who was seriously injured, was first rushed to the Hi-tech Hospital here and later shifted to Kasturba Hospital in Manipal. Uday succumbed to injuries on Saturday evening.

A case has been registered at the Malpe police station and further investigation is on.
