Man killed in elephant attack

A person died in an elephant attack at Appenahalli near Udayapura in Channarayapatna taluk on Sunday morning.

The deceased, Rangaswamy (43), was in an agriculture land near his village when he encountered the elephant.

Two elephants, which have been moving from one place to another in Hassan district for last 10 days, were spotted in Holenarasipur taluk on Saturday. This morning they moved towards Udayapura.

Residents of villages around Udayapura have alleged negligence of the Forest Department for the incident.
