Man arrested for possessing Ganja

Hassan police on Wednesday evening arrested a person and seized 70 gms of ganja worth over Rs. 5,000 near Hassan Railway Station.

The police gave name of the arrested as Syed Jabbar (37), an autorickshaw driver of Vijayanagar in Hassan. He is a native of K.R. Pet in Mandya district.

He had been working as an autorickshaw driver in Hassan. He was selling ganja illegally. The police arrested him based on a tip off.

Hassan Extension police have registered a case and remanded the accused to judicial custody.
